âThe roaring thunder of the Law, and the fear of terror of judgment are both used to bring us unto ChristâŠâ -Charles Spurgeon
The roaring thunder of the Law is used to bring about a knowledge of your sins unto repentance towards God (Acts 20:21) with the knowledge that you are guilty of breaking His Law.
The Law converts the soul.
âThe Lord is perfect, converting the soul.â -Psalm 19:7
âWherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto ChristâŠâ -Galatians 3:24
Yet, it also gives us a knowledge of the consequences of transgressions if men continue in sin, which is known and defined as judgment (John 8:24).
âKnowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade menâŠâ (2 Corinthians 5:11), to flee from the sin that put Christ upon the cross, the same cross which He took upon Himself in our stead (Isaiah 53:6), and those that refuse His mercy by rejecting Him as their Savior will meet Him, in the end, as their as their Judge (James 2:13).
Remember that Jesus Christ is the standard by which men will be judged…
