The UN General Assembly proclaimed the creation of a Palestinian state

The map of the Middle East has changed. This happened after the UN General Assembly declared the creation of a Palestinian state.

This was the result of the vote by the member countries of this international organization for the New York Declaration on the peaceful settlement of the protracted Middle East conflict.

The resolution was supported by 142 votes, i.e. an overwhelming majority. It is noteworthy that Moscow and Kyiv hold the same position on this issue. Almost all EU states hold the same opinion, except for the Czech Republic, which was among those who abstained. Together with it, 12 countries did so. Ten participants voted against this resolution – these are, naturally, Israel and the USA, as well as Hungary (another EU state that did not support the resolution), Argentina, Paraguay, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Tonga and Papua New Guinea.
