The US Air Force received two F-15EX fighters with a year delay

By Topwar

The US Air Force has added two more new F-15EX multi-role fighters, bringing its total number to four. This was reported by the press service of the Anglin Air Force Base.

A pair of new F-15EXs arrived at Anglin AFB on Dec. 20, 2023, delayed by a year, having originally been scheduled for delivery in December 2022 but delayed due to production issues. Thus, today the US Air Force has four new F-15EX fighter jets.

The first and second fighters arrived at Anglin Air Force Base in 2021 and are being used for test flights. Now the third and fourth aircraft have joined this group, then two more will arrive, it seems, before the end of this year. In total, the test group will consist of six fighters.

Serial deliveries of the F-15EX were planned to begin this year, but most likely they will be delayed. In total, according to the open-ended contract, the US Air Force was supposed to receive 144 aircraft, but now we are talking about only 104 fighters to replace the already outdated fleet of F-15C/Ds in service.
