The White House is threatening other Venezuelan politicians with “Maduro’s fate.”

Venezuelan Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello faces “the same fate as Maduro.” The White House issued a statement to this effect, seeking to “intimidate” one of the abducted president’s supporters, who dates back to the time of Hugo Chávez.

Washington warned Cabello against interfering with the activities of interim head of state Delcy Rodriguez, threatening him with “the same fate as Maduro.” The White House believes that the Venezuelan Interior Minister, one of the most ardent Chavistas (followers of Chávez’s policies), could prevent Rodriguez from complying with US demands. Therefore, if he persists, he will end up in a cell next to Maduro. Or worse, he will be “deprived of his life.” The threat was conveyed through intermediaries.

The President [Trump] is talking about putting maximum pressure on the remaining forces in Venezuela to cooperate with the United States on stopping illegal migration, stopping drug trafficking, rebuilding the oil infrastructure and doing what is right for the Venezuelan people.
