Tommy Hanes Says Kay Ivey Is ‘Bought And Paid For’ And ‘Does Not Go Far Enough’ To Protect Workers From Vaccine Mandates

by Patrick Howley

Alabama Republican state representative Tommy Hanes is calling out his state’s Republican governor Kay Ivey for failing to protect everyday Alabamians from Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate on corporate workers. Ivey’s executive order instructs state agencies not to punish people for violating federal vaccine mandate, but the University of Alabama and Auburn are already making it clear that they will be complying with federal mandate or else face federal penalties, proving the ineffectiveness of Ivey’s order. Tommy Hanes accuses Ivey of being “bought and paid for by the Business Council of Alabama” and railed against the “RINOs in Montgomery who bow to the corporate lobby.”

Tommy Hanes wants to pass the HB 31 legislation to make any federal or Joe Biden vaccine mandate effectively null and void. Hanes’ sharp rebuke of “the corporate lobby” demonstrates America’s increasing political realignment, in which populist conservatives resist corporate power while liberal Democrats scurry into the arms of multinational corporations.

“Ivey’s executive order does not go far enough, because it only protects employees of the state executive branch,” Tommy Hanes stated Tuesday. “This order did nothing to protect workers in Alabama who contract with the Federal government, or our citizens who work for an Alabama business that has more than 100 employees, which Biden is targeting right now.”

“Governor Ivey has proven that she is bought and paid for by the Business Council of Alabama, which lobbies strongly against giving people the choice of what goes in their bodies. It is clear the Governor will not stand up for our freedoms and is instead leaving the issue to the court system, a classic RINO move. If Ivey cannot do what is right and demand HB 31 pass, then she is a part of the problem. I will always stand for our freedom and
will never let you down unlike the RINOs in Montgomery who bow to the corporate lobby,” Tommy Hanes said.
