Tragedy Strikes as Aspiring Teacher Gunned Down by ‘Career Criminal’ While Sleeping in Friend’s Home: Report

A bright future was cut short this weekend when a 22-year-old North Carolina college student fell victim to a senseless act of violence during what police describe as a “random” home invasion in South Carolina.

Logan Federico, from Waxhaw, North Carolina, was fatally shot while sleeping at a friend’s house in Columbia on May 3.

The young woman, who was working two jobs while pursuing her dream of becoming a teacher, died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Friends describe her as dedicated, hardworking and passionate about making a difference in children’s lives.
