Trudeau announces $250 MILLION to UN to counter ‘global food crisis’

“I’m happy to announce an additional $250 million that Canada’s going to be putting forward towards the UN, towards the world food program to help immediately do more on this crisis,” said Trudeau.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced $250 million in food aid on Thursday during a press conference from Kigali, Rwanda.

“Since the beginning of the year, Canada’s invested half a billion dollars in aid for the world food program, for UNICEF, for other UN agencies to try and counter this food crisis that is entirely caused by Russia’s illegal and illegitimate actions, and I’m happy to announce an additional $250 million that Canada’s going to be putting forward towards the UN, towards the world food program to help immediately do more on this crisis,” said Trudeau.
