Trump Lights It up and Lays out the Case to Cheering Audience in Bedminster

Former President Donald Trump has certainly had a busy day.

He was in Miami, Florida earlier in the day to plead not guilty to a 37-count indictment in the classified document case. As we noted, there were a lot of supporters out for him. A protester jumped out in front of his motorcade and found out that wasn’t a good idea. He also stopped at an iconic Cuban restaurant, was prayed over by patrons, and bought them food.

Then, on Tuesday night, he gave a speech from Trump National Golf Club, in Bedminster, N.J. Trump called the case a “political persecution,” like out of a Communist nation, and election interference. “But they will fail and we will win!’ Trump said. He ridiculed them charging him under the Espionage Act and threatening him with “400 years in prison” for possessing his own presidential papers. It has nothing to do with a former president keeping his own documents, Trump said, contending that they are applying the wrong law. The Presidential Records Act is a civil statute, there are no criminal consequences, he explained…
