FISA: A Blatant Violation of the Fourth Amendment

FISA enables warrantless surveillance, allowing intelligence agencies to collect and review the communications of Americans without judicial oversight. This is a direct assault on the Fourth Amendment, which guarantees “the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.” By reauthorizing FISA, Congress has repeatedly failed to protect these fundamental rights, choosing instead to prioritize the demands of the intelligence community over the liberties of the American people.
