President Donald Trump on Tuesday addressed the horrific murder of a young Ukrainian woman in Charlotte, North Carolina, calling for a continued crackdown on violent crime, and to mete out justice to those who commit such heinous acts.
The White House posted a video of the president addressing rising crime, where he strongly condemned the murder of Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old woman who was brutally stabbed on Charlotte’s light rail system by alleged suspect Decarlos Brown – a man who had been previously arrested 14 times.
The senseless killing took place in a matter of moments, and it’s unclear what Brown’s alleged motivation was, other than that he could.
“For far too long, Americans have been forced to put up with Democrat-run cities that set loose savage, bloodthirsty criminals to prey on innocent people,” the president said in his video statement, filmed in the Oval Office. “…In every place they control radical left judges, politicians, and activities, and they’ve adopted a policy of catch and release for thugs and killers.”
