The former president didn’t mince words as he called out President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for “causing me to be shot at…”

Another stakes-affirming event occurred in the 2024 election as, for the second time since July 13, an attempt was made on former President Donald Trump’s life. Having repeatedly made the case that the race for the White House was between freedom and Marxism, the GOP leader asserted Monday that it was also one between saving and “destroying the country.”

Speaking with Fox News Digital’s Brooke Singman in the wake of Sunday’s attempt on his life from 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, Trump pointed toward the incumbents when he argued the suspect, “believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it.”

“Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out,” he continued.

In detailing the threat against Trump from the suspect who was said to have pointed “an AK-47 style rifle” through the chain-link fence at the Trump International Gold Club in West Palm Beach, Florida when the Republican nominee was on the course, Singman wrote, “Trump pointed to Biden and Harris’ past comments casting Trump as a ‘threat to democracy,’ while telling Americans they are ‘unity’ leaders. ‘They are the opposite,’ Trump said. ‘These are people that want to destroy our country.’”

“It is called the enemy from within,” the former president told her. “They are the real threat.”

“They do it with a combination of rhetoric and lawsuits they wrap me up in. These are the things that dangerous fools, like the shooter, listen to — that is the rhetoric they listen to, and the same with the first one,” he went on. “They use highly inflammatory language. I can use it too — far better than they can — but I don’t.”

The Trump campaign reminded that New York Rep. Dan Goldman (D) had appeared on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki” in Nov. 2023 and specifically said, “His rhetoric is really getting dangerous. More and more dangerous. And we saw what happened on January 6th, when he uses inflammatory rhetoric. Now in his recent Truth Social posts, is incredibly, incredibly scary for anyone uh, that, might be trying to work in government — and, it is just unquestionable at this point that that man cannot see public office again.”

“He is not only unfit, he is destructive to our democracy, and he has to be eliminated,” added Goldman who went on to “apologize for the poor choice of words” the next day…
