On Dec. 11, President Donald Trump signed an executive order that aims to block states from enacting and enforcing their own laws regulating artificial intelligence.
The order seeks “to sustain and enhance the United States’ global AI dominance through a minimally burdensome national policy framework for AI,” it says on the White House website.
Now, Tennessee’s AI laws might be on the chopping block.
The ELVIS Act, a 2024 law that made Tennessee the first state in the country to enact protections for artists against the misuse of artificial intelligence, could potentially be invalidated as the Department of Commerce examines state laws…
