Trump Swoons Over Sydney Sweeney Amid Reports That She’s a Republican

Donald Trump has weighed in on Sydney Sweeney in the wake of the viral controversy over her American Eagle jeans marketing campaign.

First, taking questions from reporters in Pennsylvania on Sunday, President Trump was asked about reports — unconfirmed by the Euphoria star — that she registered as a Republican last year. Citing public records, The Guardian reported over the weekend that Sweeney registered with the GOP last June in Florida. Trump was elected to his second term a few months later.

“She’s a registered Republican?!” Trump asked, looking shocked (video below). “Oh. Now I love her ad! Is that right? Sydney Sweeney … You’d be surprised how many people are Republicans. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”
