President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday evening that the U.S. would soon impose a “major” tariff on pharmaceuticals, a move he believes will force pharmaceutical companies to return their operations to the U.S.
Speaking at the National Republican Congressional Committee’s annual presidential dinner, Trump highlighted the growing economic power of the U.S. market and the need to reduce reliance on foreign countries for essential drugs.
