The exact reason Tucker Carlson and Fox News parted ways has yet to be fully revealed. Carlson, the host of one of the network’s highest-rated primetime show and reportedly one of its highest paid employees, has been part of several controversial stories and lawsuits that may have upset Fox leadership.
These reportedly include unfounded theories about the Jan. 6 Capitol riot; pressing the stolen 2020 election conspiracy and the related lawsuits; comments Carlson made about Fox executives that were unearthed as part of a defamation suit; another lawsuit by a former Carlson producer; and more.
One business story that Carlson pursued courted controversy by taking on one of the biggest asset managers in the world, BlackRock, which has been a leading advocate for ESG investing. Carlson often provided a platform on his show for the anti-ESG movement.
