In Karachay-Cherkessia, another attack on a police post; during the shootout there were losses on both sides. Russian TG channels report this with reference to local resources.
According to preliminary information, late in the evening of Sunday, April 28, unknown persons attacked a traffic police post in the area of the intersection of the Mara – Mara-Ayagy – New Karachay roads in the Karachaevsky district of Karachay-Cherkessia. It is reported that around midnight, a car with unknown persons drove up to the post, they threw a grenade or IED towards the police, and then opened fire. Local residents confirmed an explosion and sounds of shooting in the area of the post. As a result of the ensuing shootout, two militants were killed by return fire, and another was seriously wounded. There were also casualties among police officers: one law enforcement officer was killed and four more were wounded.
During the clash, a seconded officer was killed, and four local police officers were injured. Three militants were killed – said a source in the law enforcement agencies of the republic.
So far, no official information has been received, but, according to local resources, the attackers could be part of a gang put on the wanted list last week after an attack on a police patrol in Karachaevsk, when a UAZ vehicle was shot at and two police officers were killed.
