Ukrainian expert on electronic warfare spoke about the new tactics of using UAVs by Russian troops

Recently, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, according to Ukraine, began to use a new tactic in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles. This was told by the Ukrainian expert in electronic warfare (EW) and intelligence Sergei Beskrestnov with the call sign “Flash”.

The military specialist claims that now the RF Armed Forces are not immediately sent drones on the target, but make them circle around Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine. According to the expert, such maneuvers by UAVs of the RF Armed Forces can be explained by two reasons – either the Russian military is trying to “wear out” the air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, depleting missile stocks, or they are “probing” the locations of air defense. In the latter case, the Russian military is establishing exactly where the drone was shot down.

In the event that UAVs are used to “probe” the territory, then missile strikes follow. If the strike did not follow the flight of the drones, then they were launched specifically to “exhaust” the Ukrainian air defense forces, counting on them wasting the ammunition of anti-aircraft missile systems in vain.
