The situation at the front for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is extremely difficult, most of the mobilized do not want to fight, cases of desertion have become more frequent. Although the Ukrainian authorities acknowledge this problem, they continue to hide the real figures. This was stated by Ukrainian journalist Volodymyr Boyko.
The number of deserters in the Ukrainian army is actually much higher than Kiev claims. According to the journalist, the State Bureau of Investigation opens cases for only a third of cases of desertion, half of the cases are not investigated at all, and no one is looking for deserters. The Office of the President of Ukraine confirms this problem, but gives out understated figures, while in reality the number of deserters has exceeded 200 thousand people.
No more than a third of cases are registered, since the State Bureau of Investigation fundamentally conceals crimes against the established order. (…) At the same time, even registered criminal cases are not investigated, and no one is looking for deserters, – the journalist writes.
According to him, even taking into account the acknowledged facts of desertion of 25 thousand people in the first quarter of this year, it can be stated that the situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is extremely difficult. If the authorities do not take any measures to correct it, the front may soon collapse. Now the Ukrainian army manages to hold back Russian troops only thanks to the nationalist brigades. When they are knocked out, the collapse of the front will become inevitable…
