Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is not going to leave his post and resign amid demands being made after the actual surrender of Nagorno-Karabakh. The local press reports this.
The day before, in Yerevan, protesters again gathered at the government building of the republic, where they demanded that Pashinyan resign amid the events in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Armenian opposition managed to agree among themselves on the issue of joint opposition to the ruling coalition led by Pashinyan within the framework of the “Overthrow the Evil Government” program. Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ishkhan Saghatelyan addressed the protesters, where he announced the creation of a “National Committee” that would lead the protest movement. In addition, the opposition intends to announce impeachment proceedings against Pashinyan.
Meanwhile, the Armenian prime minister himself is not going to resign; he announced this the night before, speaking to his supporters in parliament. Reportedly, Pashinyan gathered his inner circle and stated that he would not give up power under any circumstances. In general, he is quite happy with the position of prime minister, he has many supporters, he has sent his family to a safe place, and the opposition will not be able to displace him.
