United Airlines Impacted By Nationwide Ground Stop

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced a ground stop for United Airlines flights bound for multiple destinations.

The alert impacted flights to Chicago and other major hubs, including Denver, Newark, Houston, and San Francisco.

“United Airlines has halted all U.S. departures due to a nationwide system failure affecting aircraft load calculations. The disruption has led to a complete standstill, with all flights grounded and no takeoffs or movement expected until the issue is resolved,” Rawsalerts wrote.

“United anticipates the issue will persist throughout the evening, with frustrated passengers reporting being stuck on the tarmac,” it added.

WGN-TV stated:

United Airlines issued the following statement on the matter:

“Due to a technology issue, we are holding United mainline flights at their departure airports. We expect additional flight delays this evening as we work through this issue. Safety is our top priority, and we’ll work with our customers to get them to their destinations.”
