UPDATE: DHS Confirms Gregory Bovino Has NOT Been Relieved of His Duties

This evening, reports that Border Commander Gregory Bovino had been removed from his position broke out.

Our original report on that here:

At the time of our reporting, it had not been confirmed whether or not the rumors were true.

But now, as we suspected, the reports have been completely shut down by the Department of Homeland Security.

Gregory Bovino is not being relieved of his duties. He will remain as Border Patrol Commander.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin released this statement in response to Nick Sortor’s original claim:
