The United States has lifted restrictions on the use of anti-personnel mines worldwide.

The United States is returning to antipersonnel mines, lifting restrictions on their use. According to American media reports, the corresponding document was signed by Pentagon Secretary Pete Hegseth earlier this month.

The US Army has been authorized to use antipersonnel mines anywhere, although previously their use was restricted to the Korean Peninsula to protect South Korea from North Korea. So, starting in December, the Americans can deploy them worldwide. The decision to use antipersonnel mines will be made by theater commanders based on the evolving situation.
