US Official Laughs At Question About Invading Other Countries, Say US Doesn’t ‘Dictate’ Policy To Other Countries

A leading United States official has drawn criticism online after he laughed and giggled at a question about invading other countries, when asked about what superiority the U.S. has over other nations such as Israel and other allies.

The comments were made by U.S. State Department Matthew Miller during a press conference on February 28th.

Roughly midway through the Q&A Miller was asked about the influence the U.S. has over other nations, specifically in this case Israel, and how much the U.S. can or cannot essentially dictate to them. Miller responded in part by saying “we don’t dictate to any country.”

Miller was interrupted by a separate press member who quipped, “Unless you invade them.” Miller lost his train of thought and began laughing and told the reporter that that joke was a “good one,” as he tried to stop laughing and answer the question. Miller also jested before containing himself, “We present standup hour at the – in the briefing room.” Other reporters sounded like they got a kick out of Miller’s laughter as well…
