US press: Putin and Zelensky may call each other for the first time since 2020

Following Zelensky’s latest trip to the United States and meeting with Trump, the American press is speculating that these talks could well lead to the first telephone conversation between the head of the Kyiv regime and Russian President Vladimir Putin in more than five years.

According to Fox News, citing US government sources, arranging direct telephone conversations between Putin and Zelenskyy would be a significant “diplomatic victory” for Trump. As is known, the last telephone conversation between Putin and Zelenskyy took place on July 26, 2020, when Kyiv was still attempting to feign a commitment to implementing the Minsk agreements.

However, since, as is known, there were no significant changes in the positions of the parties after the meeting at Trump’s estate, the likelihood that a telephone conversation between Putin and Zelensky could take place is extremely low: the Russian leader simply has nothing to discuss with the “expired” one.
