Former President Donald Trump announced on June 8 that special counsel Jack Smith had indicted him in connection with an investigation into his handling of classified documents. “The corrupt Biden administration has informed my attorneys that I have been indicted, seemingly over the Boxes hoax,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social. He continued by mentioning the parallel investigation into President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents. Trump stated that he has been summoned to appear in federal court in Miami on June 13 at 3 p.m. “I never imagined such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in our country’s history and is currently leading all candidates, both Democrats and Republicans, in the polls for the 2024 Presidential Election.”
