Were Houthis a proxy for Russia in retaliation for Armavir attack?
According to the Russian website EurAsia Daily, two US warships were attacked by the Houthis and not one.
In fact, in the video below shot at night you can glimpse in the darkness barely illuminated by the light of the rockets and explosions two ships that have the profile of the two ships mentioned above.
The Russian website EurAsia Daily states:
âThe ruling Ansar Alla (Houthi) movement in northern Yemen attacked a U.S. aircraft carrier and destroyer and a number of ships in the Red Sea, said Yahya Saria, a representative of the Houthi armed forces.
The statement notes that the naval forces, missile units and Houthi drones carried out six operations.
âIn the north of the Red Sea, the American aircraft carrier Dwight Eisenhower was attacked with the help of several missiles and drones,â â says Sariaâs statement.
He also said that the Houthis attacked an American destroyer in the Red Sea with the help of a UAV.
Saria added that the movement forces struck ships in the Red and Arabian Seas and the Indian Ocean, which âbelong to companies that violated the decision to ban passage to ports (Israel).â
The Ansar Alla (Houthis) movement ruling in northern Yemen, which controls most of the Yemeni Red Sea coast, has previously declared its support for Palestine and intention to attack any ships associated with Israel, calling on other countries to withdraw their crews from them and not to approach them at sea.
At the same time, they stated that they do not interfere with the freedom of navigation in the region and do not touch the ships of other countries.
Against the background of attacks in the Red Sea, some companies decided to suspend transportation across the Red Sea.â
According to an expert who I prefer not to name despite the official statements of EurAsia Daily and other sources, the K-300P Bastion-P a Russian mobile coastal defence missile system was used in this attack.
The main role of the Bastion-P is to engage surface ships including carrier battle groups, convoys, and landing craft.
A typical battery is composed of 1-2 command and control vehicles based on the Kamaz 43101 6Ă6 truck, one support vehicle, four launcher vehicles based on the MZKT-7930 8Ă8 chassis each operated by a 3-man crew and holding two missiles, and four loader vehicles;Â launcher vehicles can be located up to 25 km (16 mi) away from the C2 vehicles.
Upon halting, missiles can be readied for firing within five minutes, and both fired in 2-5 second intervals.
The mobile launcher can remain on active standby over a period of 3â5 days, or up to 30 days when accompanied by a combat duty support vehicle…
