President Donald Trump signed the $900 billion National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) on Thursday, which overwhelmingly advances his vision for the U.S. military. However, last-minute Congressional add-ins fly in the face of the America First agenda, reminding us that even in the Trump era, Congress remains a fortress for unwanted spending.
While the powerhouse funding supercharges Trump’s promises with massive investments in troop pay raises, the revolutionary Golden Dome missile defense system, and the codification of over a dozen of Trump’s executive orders, it’s far from a pure victory for Americans exhausted by Congress’ constant devotion to funding entrenched global commitments.
