White House confirms Trump diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency

After medical tests, statement notes, ‘Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease’

President Donald Trump, whose schedule in the Oval Office and out has been perceived as grueling, has yet to have a slow day on the job, apparently.

But he is 79 years old.

And on Friday the White House confirmed he had been diagnosed with “chronic venous insufficiency,” a condition described as a “benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.”

The announcement said, “Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.”

The Washington Examiner said the condition is characterized by a diminished blood recirculation.

Photographs of the president recently have suggested a swelling in the lower part of his legs, as well as bruising on the back of his right hand.
