BREAKING: Injuries Reported After Plane Collision At NYC’s LaGuardia Airport

Injuries have been reported after an Air Canada flight reportedly collided with a vehicle on the runway of New York City’s LaGuardia International Airport late Sunday night.

According to preliminary reports, the incident involved Air Canada Express Flight AC8646, a Bombardier CRJ-900LR aircraft operated by Jazz Aviation. The flight had arrived from Montreal-Trudeau International Airport on a scheduled short-haul service carrying approximately 76 passengers in a two-class configuration, along with crew, for a total of roughly 80 to 85 people on board.

Flight-tracking data referenced in the reports indicated that the aircraft was taxiing after landing and was reportedly attempting to cross Runway 04/22 near Runway 4 when the collision with a Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) Air Crash Rescue truck occurred on an adjacent taxiway.

Video footage of the incident posted to X showed the plane positioned upwards on its back wheels with extensive damage to the front of the aircraft, including the cockpit. Additional images showed emergency response activity, including a second alarm transmitted for the incident and mass casualty incident protocols activated, according to scanner traffic…
