Biden’s Actions Not Matching His Words

By JEFFREY LORD

Buckle in. It will be a long four years.

Four years ago this day, at 12:19 pm – a mere 19 minutes after Donald Trump was sworn in – The Washington Post had this front-page story:

The campaign to impeach President Trump has begun

That is how the Trump era began, foreshadowing the resistance that would become the norm for the next four years.

“Make no mistake. Biden will not lift a finger to have his actions match his words.”

Four years later President Joe Biden appeals for unity in his inaugural address. “We must end this uncivil war,” says the new president in his address.

But mere hours later, here is the headline at Newsmax:

Press Sec. Psaki: Biden Leaving Trump’s Impeachment Up to Senate

The story says:

“President-elect Joe Biden plans to leave the impeachment of his predecessor President Donald Trump up to the Senate, incoming Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Wednesday morning, hours before Biden was to be sworn in.”

Got that? The new President of the United States, the leader of his party, doesn’t have the guts to have his actions and those of his decidedly uncivil party match his words. Newsflash for Jen Psaki? Joe is no longer a senator – he’s the president. The president – the leader.

Then there’s Nancy Pelosi, saying this as headlined at The Hill:

Pelosi: Trump could be an accessory to murder ‘because he instigated that insurrection’

And what did Biden say to that decidedly uncivil rhetoric? Did he condemn the lunatic remarks? No. Complete and total silence. Instead he assailed Trump supporters as “white supremacists” and domestic terrorists.

Make no mistake. Biden will not lift a finger to have his actions match his words.

All of which is to say it is not what Joe Biden says but what Joe Biden does that will define his presidency.

As his left-wing supporters in corporations, the media, and academia go on a cancel culture binge designed to silence conservatives, Biden looks the other way. Harvard throwing Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik because of her Trump support? Silence from Biden. A publisher canceling a book contract with Missouri Senator Josh Hawley because Hawley and Texas Senator Ted Cruz had the courage to stand on the Senate floor and support the integrity of the American election system and the Constitution? Silence. And as to the two Senators themselves, Biden went out of his way to compare them to Nazis. How civil.

Make no mistake. The new president has absolutely zero intention of making his actions match his words.

A president who can’t find his tongue to condemn all of this garbage means we have a new president who approves of it.

Buckle in. It will be a long four years.
