And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence…Declaration of Independence

Your ancestors can ruin your future in the Cancel Culture.

America has a Godly heritage. Just look at the last sentence of our founding document which acknowledges our “firm reliance on God (divine Providence).” In 1778, James Madison, our 4th President, said, “We have staked the whole future of our new nation, not upon the power of government; far from it. We have staked the future of all our political constitutions upon the capacity of each of ourselves to govern ourselves according to the moral principles of the Ten Commandments of God.”

That’s right, the same Ten Commandments that are not allowed in public schools because it mentions God; the same God that the Founding Father’s acknowledged a “firm reliance” on. Is it any wonder that 244 years later, our nation has forgotten God and we have rioters in Democrat-led cities who want to destroy America. Do you think I’m exaggerating? Here is a video of Lilith Sinclair, a Portland Black Lives Matter activist who says she is organizing for the abolition of the police & United States.

Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil…” In my opinion, that is America today. When the Bible says, “Woe” it means something bad is going to happen. Which leads me to this question: Is America being judged by God? Seriously. 2020 has been unusually awful. In my daily Bible reading I have been going through Jeremiah, Lamentations and Ezekiel and the main theme is God’s judgment against Israel because of its sins. How does God judge a nation? He sends them war, famine, wild beasts and disease. I know, I know; that judgment was directed at Israel not America. But throughout the Bible, God judged other nations when their sins reached to heaven. Granted we aren’t suffering from wild beasts and famine yet, but Antifa and Black Lives Matter are at war with police and the pandemic is continuing.

The late Pastor Adrian Rogers once said, “God is our only hope and God is our biggest threat.” He too, believed that God would judge America. We stand on the shoulders of giants who trusted in God. But where are the godly men in this generation who will warn people about the justice of God? On Panel Three of the Jefferson Memorial it is written, “God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever.” I fear Jefferson is right.

Correction

Yesterday, I posted a quote by Alexis de Tocqueville. According to Snopes the quote, “America being great because she is good” is not found in any book by de Tocqueville despite being quoted in other books. I’m sorry for the error. Nevertheless, I agree with the sentiment of the full quote that the preaching in churches greatly impacted America’s founding.
