Chilling moment girl, 7, dressed in a Minnie Mouse costume while trick-or-treating with her father in Chicago is shot in the neck and chest ‘by a masked man targeting a rival gang member’

  • She was hit in the neck and chest, and taken to hospital in a critical condition
  •  Police believe the girl to be an unintended victim who was hit by stray bullets
  • They said a group of males were chasing a 31-year-old man along the street when someone in the group opened fire
  • Police on Friday identified a person of interest, saying he was wearing a ‘Jason’ Halloween mask; no arrests have been made 

A chilling video has emerged on social media showing the moment a barrage of gunfire erupted on the streets of Chicago on Halloween, critically injuring a girl in a Minnie Mouse costume who was out trick-or-treating with her father.

The footage was taken in the Little Village neighborhood. It shows a group of young men, some wearing masks, running toward the corner of West 26th Street and Ridegeway Avenue.

Moments later, seven gunshots are fired, sending people fleeing in the opposite direction.

It is unknown whether the shooter is among the men seen running away in the video.

On Friday, Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said investigators have identified a person of interest.

Based on surveillance footage and tips, it was determined that the suspected gunman was wearing a ‘Jason’ Halloween mask.

    Right! We gotta stop gun violence and we can do it if we take away all of those AR-15s and assault weapons from all of those people who bought them legally and things like this will all stop! (Sarcasm intended!) Doesn’t anyone give a damn about this little girl and what things must have been like for her dad? Where is that equine rectum of a Chicago police chief? Is this consistent with his “values?”
