Clarence Thomas Fears For Supreme Court’s Future Following Roe v. Wade Leak

On Friday, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas expressed his concerns for the future of the Supreme Court after the shocking Roe v. Wade draft opinion leak, condemning whoever is responsible as well as the Left’s reaction to the information.

Thomas has already been very vocal about the leak, commissioning an investigation to find the person responsible, and warning that the leaks and subsequent nationwide reaction to them “bode ill for a free society.” He has also harshly criticized those belonging to certain political factions that are becoming “addicted to wanting certain outcomes” rather than “living with outcomes they don’t like.”

At a conference in Dallas on Friday, Thomas discussed the leak and the negative impact it may have on institutions such as the Supreme Court. “When you lose that trust, especially in the institution that I’m in, it changes the institution fundamentally,” said Thomas. “You begin to look over your shoulder. It’s like kind of an infidelity that you can explain it, but you can’t undo it.”

“I do think that what happened at the court is tremendously bad,” he added. “I wonder how long we’re going to have these institutions at the rate we’re undermining them.”
