At a recent campaign event, Ron DeSantis declined to commit to decriminalizing marijuana. DeSantis explained he was inclined to keep the decisions at a state level and continue to allow use for medical purposes and veterans suffering from PTSD.
Fla @GovRonDeSantis asked to "please" decriminalize marijuana by 2025. He said he's not going to do that. Said marijuana has gotten stronger and things are being added to it. Wants to keep it away from kids. "We have too many people using drugs in our country right now."

Would now have to rethink my past tolerance of drug use today. Yes, not only is marijuana getting stronger but also the new mindset of our young concerning drugs in general. “Everyone” wants to try them, “Everyone” knows the dangers, and yet, apparently their quest for a high or relaxed feeling or what ever else the reason for using then, Waaaay to many are getting hooked or killed by them. And the last reason, imagine if you will, IF the drug “DEMAND” were to drop off to half or less that what it even is today. do you think taking the risk to not only produce the drugs but also to distribute them and smuggle them into the US wouldn’t drop significantly if we no longer would pay to have them??? I’m saying they would in short order. without the demand going down, doubt there will ever be controls for them. Maybe “Just Say NO” wasn’t such a bad thing after all.
