Emerson, Lake and Palmer drummer resurrects fallen bandmates for technology-enhanced tour

KENT, Ohio – Fans of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, the 70s prog-rock band that had pop hits with tracks such as “Lucky Man,” “From The Beginning” and classic rock radio staple “Karn Evil#9,″ are reuniting, with technological assistance, for “Welcome Back My Friends: The Return of Emerson, Lake and Palmer.” The tour will stop at the Kent Stage on Monday, July 22. Tickets for the show start at $55 and go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 24 at kentstage.org.

Both singer-bassist-guitarist Greg Lake and keyboardist Keith Emerson died in 2016, leaving drummer Carl Palmer as the sole survivor of the trio. But now with “the full cooperation of the Estates of Keith Emerson and Greg Lake,” the trio will perform using giant video walls featuring Lake and Emerson performing live from a 1992 show at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Palmer along with two side musicians will be live on stage…
