On the morning of November 2, 2023, Florida Senator Rick Scott penned an op-ed announcing his endorsement of Donald Trump for President in the 2024 presidential election.
In doing so, Scott has effectively ignored fellow Florida statewide official Ron DeSantis, who is currently the Governor of the Sunshine State and Trump’s most prominent rival for the GOP nomination.
Scott’s piece was published at Newsweek, declaring that it’s high-time for the Republican party to stand behind Trump. The Florida Senator stressed that Trump is the only candidate who can defeat incumbent President Joe Biden.
“I am often asked whether this is the beginning of the end of America. It will be, if we stop fighting and cede our country to the incompetent, radical Democrats who are destroying the fundamental values that make America great. We of course do not even know if Joe Biden is lucid enough to be aware that his administration is destroying America.
