An illegal alien has been charged with sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 in Illinois, authorities say.
On Thursday, the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) announced the arrest of 38-year-old Juan C. Alvizar, a resident of a local mobile home park.
Alvizar is accused in connection with a “sexual incident” involving a preteen victim in the rural village of Bourbonnais.
He was charged with Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault/Victim Under 13 Years of Age and Criminal Sexual Assault.
Following his arrest, Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged a detainer against Alvizar, who has been identified by KCSO as an illegal alien of undisclosed nationality.

“Although we want to make every effort possible to maintain the privacy to the victim in this particular case, I think it’s vitally important to the residents of Kankakee County to understand that this heinous act was completely avoidable based solely on the fact that this offender should not be in the country,” Sheriff Mike Downey said in a statement…
