The eighth congress of the Union of Volunteers of Donbass was held at the site of the republican center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Donetsk People’s Republic in Mariupol. The congress was attended by the chairman of the union Alexander Borodai, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexei Zhuravlev, businessman and owner of Tsargrad Konstantin Malofeev, the famous commander Akhra Avidzba “Abkhaz”, other commanders and volunteers. This was reported by the WarGonzo Telegram channel.
At the congress, it was decided to form the Russian Volunteer Corps to participate in a special military operation. The corps is planned to be equipped with military equipment and other necessary weapons so that it can take an active part in hostilities in the special military operation zone.
The corps will unite various volunteer units. The congress also decided to appeal to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to unite all detachments and battalions of the Union of Donbass Volunteers into a single military unit. This decision is justified. It should be noted that the volunteer movement of Donbass already has a solidĀ historyĀ and an impressive track record. Many of its representatives took part in the hostilities even at the very early stage of the liberation of Donbass – in 2014-2015.
