In Ukraine, the first mercenary from Brazil, who took part in hostilities on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the end of February, has been denazized. The transfer of a unit of foreign mercenaries from the so-called International Legion of Territorial Defense of Ukraine to Severodonetsk was reported last week. As planned by Kyiv, the mercenaries were supposed to maintain the morale of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine blocked in the industrial zone of the Azot plant and organize a counterattack in order to push back the Russian troops and “liberate” part of the city from them. However, already on the day of arrival, the mercenaries suffered losses, and the subsequent counterattack failed.
According to Ukrainian sources, foreign fighters suffered significant losses, but no one gives exact data. Yesterday, i.e. On Sunday, June 5, the head of the Lugansk OVA, Serhiy Gaidai, let it slip, declaring the death of at least four mercenaries. According to him, citizens of Australia, Germany, France and the Netherlands were killed in Severodonetsk.
