White House Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany weighed in on mask-wearing in public, stating that “no one should be fighting over wearing a mask.”
“What we should be doing is … what is patriotic, which is, when you can’t socially distance, wear a mask,” McEnany told “Fox & Friends.”
McEnany added that President Donald Trump only wears a mask when he is not able to socially distance.
“He’s done it several times. That’s where he stands,” McEnany said.
“That is the American people. It’s the right thing to do if you’re standing close to someone, and no one should be fighting over it nevertheless,” she added.
Tensions have been rising over mask-wearing, especially in places like grocery stores.
Earlier this week, a video went viral on social media, showing a woman yelling at an employee and threatening to beat up the worker over the store’s mask policy.
The video is the latest to show a public confrontation breaking out over mask guidelines.
The video has since been viewed more than 78,000 times.
The clip was filmed at King Kullen grocery store in Massapequa, Long Island.

In June, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called for a “long overdue” mandatory face mask requirement to be implemented across the US.
Last month, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) called for states refusing to enforce mandatory masks on residents to face losing their federal coronavirus relief funds.
The Democratic senator pushed for states to adopt mask mandate by introducing a legislative amendment in the Senate.

“Research shows that masks reduce transmission of the coronavirus,” said the California senator.“
CDC Director Redfield said this surge in COVID-19 cases could end within two months if we adopt ‘universal masking.’”
“Businesses like Walmart, Kohl’s, and Kroger now require masks. And countries that are successfully controlling this virus require masks,” she added.
