Massive Farmer Protests Takeover EU, Fighting Against Lofty Emissions Goals. Dead Silent In Mainstream Media

The protests, some of them, have gotten violent and quite heated to say the least.

While the majority of Americans were fixated to the television to watch the 58th annual Super Bowl – which, it is currently estimated that last night’s Super Bowl was the most watched ever, coming in at an estimated 120 million viewers, surpassing last year’s record-setting 115M – very few Americans are even unaware that there are colossal protests taking place all across the European Union, and are causing quite a stir; and the governments so far have not done much to really intervene either, yet.

Last month The WinePress highlighted two large-scale famers protests going on in Germany and France. These protests, which have received next to no attention in American media, let alone mainstream European media, sparked the catalyst to launch a number of other protests across the eurozone. These continued protests in Germany and France, along with Belgium, Portugal, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Spain, The Netherlands and Greece.

The protests, some of them, have gotten violent and quite heated to say the least.

Over a week ago, one farmer protest in Belgium set a fire outside the doors of the EU Parliament building them, as demonstrators squared-off against riot police, and some were seen throwing eggs.

More recently, farmers in Poland have mobilized in such large numbers that they have effectively begun a blockade of the border to Ukraine, in a demonstration against the EU climate policies and surge of cheap Ukrainian food imports. These demonstrations began on February 9th.
