After telling the public for months that pasteurized milk is safe against bird flu infection and transmission, the mainstream media is claiming that it is possible for live avian influenza to survive the rapid heat treatment process.
First reported by CBS, these new findings were published on Friday in the New England Journal of Medicine, where researchers mimicked the pasteurization process in their labs and did not test conventional milk from the store.
The research was conducted by scientists at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a subsidiary of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The study authors noted that âHPAI A(H5N1) genome copies were quantified by quantitative reverse-transcriptaseâpolymerase-chain-reaction (qRT-PCR) assay.â
