TX Rep. Michael McCaul on the Democrats’ DHS Shutdown: ‘They Will Have Blood on Their Hands’

Republican Rep. Michael McCaul (TX-10), Chairman Emeritus of both the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the House Committee on Homeland Security, appeared on the March 15 Fox News Sunday program.

Host Shannon Bream questioned McCaul extensively about Operation Epic Fury, but his most chilling response surrounded the battle in the Senate to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Democrat shutdown has kept DHS from being fully funded, compromising our domestic response and security, especially in an increasingly heightened domestic threat environment.

McCaul told Bream, “If they continue this, Shannon, they will have blood on their hands.”

He began,

I remember the Boston bombing when I became Chairman and I investigated that. We saw this bombing scenario in New York, very reminiscent, it could have been a bigger attack than the Boston bombing. And since that time, Austin, TX in my hometown, to Virginia, a veteran being shot down and killed — not overseas — but in a classroom, and then the synagogue, the Jewish targets.
