In 2021, Dr. Anthony Fauci and Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser went door-to-door during the pandemic to encourage vaccine-hesitant individuals to get the Covid-19 vaccine. Footage of these house calls was captured for a new PBS documentary about Fauci and a recently released clip shows the political figures getting rejected by residents who are skeptical about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.

Fauci and Bowser visited southeast D.C., a historically Black community with low vaccination rates. In the clip, Fauci is met with individuals who remain steadfast in their decision to not get vaccinated, despite the then-Chief Medical Advisor to the President of the United States imploring them to do so.
