Update (1240ET):Â Weâd like to note a correction: It has been brought to our attention that an earlier stat shared by us was incorrect:Â The state did not report 1,000 deaths in a single day.
Florida reported 1,300 new cases over the past 24 hours, its highest single-day total since April 3, according to Local10.com. The state has also surpassed the 30k mark.
According to health officials in Tallahassee, the state has 30,174 verified cases of COVID-19 and 1,012 confirmed deaths, along with 4,699 people hospitalized with the virus, according to the latest numbers from the state health department.
Florida reported 1,300 new cases on Thursday, the stateâs highest single-day total since April 3. However, officials noted that the jump corresponds to an increase in testing.
We apologize for the confusion.

Update (1230ET):Â Cuomo continued to beat up on McConnell during Fridayâs briefing over the Majority Leaderâs bankruptcy comment, arguing that Kentucky is a ânet takerâ of federal funds, while New York is the ultimate ânet giver.â
Meanwhile, the governorâs team has clearly activated the bot swarm, as dozens of replies featuring the graphic shown below flooded the social network.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching Andrew Cuomo eviscerate Moscow Mitch just now. That vile turtle is a plutocrat working to increase the disparity between the haves and the have nots for the last 20 years. Very satisfying to see Cuomo call mcconnell out on his bullshit. pic.twitter.com/SxaFSB7Eb1
