Dear friends, editors, and the members of the press: hello, AoA, and greetings from California

One cannot live not by lies part time, or whenever it’s convenient. As Solzenitsyn had boldly stated for his beloved mother Russia in the hey days of the USSR just before he was arrested: “Let their rule hold not through me!”

The test to live not by lies is daily, constant.

I invite you to publish this open letter written by a common man, a mr nobody, on behalf of an incarcerated journalist, and bring it to the attention of the patricians of Pakistan, including the Honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, so that he may be informed how some common powerless people perceive state matters on which the patricians rule by the fiat of power.

We all know that being offered the bowl of hemlock is always a badge of honor that ex post facto falls on the right side of history…
