Pair Of US Navy SEALs Declared Dead After Botched Raid On Iranian Vessel

Last night it was officially announced that two United States Navy Sea, Air, and Land (SEAL) servicemen were officially declared dead after a reported weeklong search, after U.S. forces raided an Iranian vessel over a week ago.

The WinePress reported on the strikes and raids the U.S. and allied forces were conducting against the Houthis in Yemen, which the U.S. says is backed by Iran; of which including raiding one vessel purportedly from Iran supplying weapons to the Houthis. Though viewed as a success, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said that two soldiers will missing in action after the raid.

However, last night CENTCOM officially stated that these two men were declared “deceased” while in the line of duty. A press release from CENTCOM states:


We regret to announce that after a 10-day exhaustive search, our two missing U.S. Navy SEALs have not been located and their status has been changed to deceased. The search and rescue operation for the two Navy SEALs reported missing during the boarding of an illicit dhow carrying Iranian advanced conventional weapons Jan. 11 concluded and we are now conducting recovery operations…
