In a farcical irony, Republican Larry Elder  who’s running to become the first black governor of California  was attacked by a liberal CNN pundit as a “white supremacist.”

Not surprisingly, the knives are coming out just as Elder is surging in the polls ahead of Tuesday’s California recall election, where incumbent Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is on the chopping block.

The latest smear occurred Sunday, when Los Angeles Times columnist Jean Guerrero trashed Elder as a “white supremacist” on Brian Stelter’s poorly-rated CNN show.

“He has been able to reach the minority of voters in California who embrace his white supremacist worldview,” Guerrero said.

She added: “And, you know, he’s co-opted this line by my co-columnist from the headline, you know, calling him the ‘black face of white supremacy,’ but he refuses to engage with the actual substance of our reporting.”

Guerrero, a self-described Latina, then spouted an actual “white supremacist” stance by saying Elder’s political views were shaped by a white man.

In an incoherent rant, she suggested that black people like Elder are too stupid to have any thoughts of their own because they merely adopt the opinions of their white peers.

“You know, the idea that his views were shaped by a well-known white supremacist named Jared Taylor — who he repeatedly quoted in early writings — that he plans to reverse all of the state’s progress on immigrant rights and racial justice and that he poses a very real threat to communities of color for all the reasons that we reported in the past,” Guerrero stammered.

Essentially, she claims Elder is a threat to “communities of color” because he opposes unfettered illegal immigration and believes black people can think for themselves and can succeed without constantly relying on patronizing white liberals.

Just days earlier, CNN published a race-baiting hit piece insisting that black and brown “white supremacists” are America’s next big threat.

The gist was that non-whites who don’t internalize the disempowering left-wing talking point that they are helpless victims are “white supremacists.”

Predictably, Brian Stelter said nothing when Elder was defamed by his guest as a “white supremacist”  all while CNN ignored a shocking racist assault on the black Republican last week.

In the disturbing Sept. 8 incident, a white liberal in a gorilla mask hurled an egg at Elder while he was campaigning in Venice, California.

According to Turning Point USA president Charlie Kirk, the woman accused Elder of not being “a true black person,” presumably because he’s a Republican.

Numerous conservatives slammed the hypocrisy of Democrats and their left-wing media puppets, who refused to condemn the racist assault because the victim was a black Republican.

Elder later tweeted that his security detail was shot with a pellet gun and hit with projectiles.

This alarming incident underscores that today’s left is no better than they were decades ago, when the late Malcolm X torpedoed white liberals and other Democrats as virtue-signaling hypocrites who exploit black people to gain power.

In 1965, X delivered a scathing smackdown of white liberals, whom he declared the “enemy of black people.”

“In this crooked game of power politics here in America, the Negro — namely the race problem, integration and civil rights issues — are all nothing but tools used by the whites who call themselves liberals against another group of whites who call themselves conservatives, either to get into power or to retain power,” X said.

While he slammed both liberals and conservatives, Malcolm X said white liberals are far more sinister because they pretend to be allies while shamelessly weaponizing race to stoke division in order to win power.

“The white liberal differs from the white conservative only in one way: The liberal is more deceitful, more hypocritical, than the conservative,” Malcolm said.

“Both want power, but the white liberal is the one who has perfected the art of posing as the Negro’s friend and benefactor.”

Malcolm X explained that “by winning the friendship and support of the Negro, the white liberal is able to use the Negro as a pawn or a weapon in this political football game that is constantly raging between the white liberals and the white conservatives.”

He added: “The American Negro is nothing but a political football, and the white liberals control this ball through tricks and tokenism.”

X saw through the patronizing posturing of white liberals, who constantly make false promises during election season, which they promptly ignore right after black voters cast their ballots for Democrats.

“Any time you throw your weight behind a political party that controls two-thirds of the government, and that party can’t keep the promise that it made to you during election time, and you are dumb enough to walk around continuing to identify yourself with that party — you’re not only a chump, but you’re a traitor to your race,” he explained.

“The white liberals, who have been posing as our friends, have failed us,” X said. “The white liberal is the worst enemy to America and the worst enemy to the black man.”

What would Malcolm X say today, based on how the Democrat Party has repeatedly failed the black community?

But at least they’re equal-opportunity offenders, since Dems have also failed whites, Asians, Hispanics and every other group.
