As we reported on Saturday, Rep. Janaal Bowman (D-NY) was caught on camera pulling a fire alarm while Democrats were trying to delay voting on averting a government shutdown. Then when it was obvious they had him on camera, and a picture of him pulling it was released by the Capitol Police, his staff admitted he did it but said it was because of “confusion” rushing to the vote. Then he said he did it because he thought the alarm that he pulled would open a door.
People weren’t buying it, and he got roasted on social media. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) called for him to be prosecuted. Rep. George Santos (R-NY) put out a funny tutorial on how a fire alarm doesn’t open a door. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy blasted Bowman and others were trying to have him censured or expelled.
