President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine used long-range “Flamingo” cruise missiles in a strike on Russian military-industrial targets, including a facility in Cheboksary, on Tuesday, May 5.
In a Telegram post accompanied by video footage, Zelensky said the missiles were launched as part of a “Deep Strike” operation by Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

“Our long-range strikes continue to act in a fully justified response to Russian attacks.
Last night, combat launches of F-5 Flamingo cruise missiles were carried out as part of the Armed Forces’ Deep Strike operation against several enemy targets, including military-industrial facilities in Cheboksary.
Ukrainian “Flamingos” covered a distance of more than 1,500 kilometers. The targeted military production site manufactured relay protection systems, automation equipment, and low-voltage apparatus. The plant supplied navigation components for the Russian Navy, missile industry, aviation, and armored vehicles—everything the Russians use in their war against us, against Ukraine.
Russia must end its war and move toward real diplomacy. We have made our proposal. Glory to Ukraine!”
